Biography
Professor Dr. Jesmine Banu is a distinguished medical professional specializing in reproductive endocrinology and infertility, currently serving as Chairman of the Department of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), Dhaka, Bangladesh. She also holds the roles of Director of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), President of the Annual Performance Agreement (APA), and President of the National Integrity Strategy (NIS) at BSMMU.
Dr. Banu has an extensive academic portfolio, with 70 research articles published in national and international journals. She is also the author of the book Laparoscopic Ovarian Drilling in Clomiphene Resistant PCOS Patients: Clinical Response and Outcome, published by Lambert University, Germany, and a contributing author of the book chapter Noble Approach for Poor Ovarian Reserve with Autologous Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy in New Advances in Medicine and Medical Science.
Her professional affiliations include life memberships in the Fertility & Sterility Society of Bangladesh, the Laparoscopic Society of Bangladesh, and the Endometriosis-Adenomyosis Society of Bangladesh. Additionally, she serves as the Entertainment Secretary of the Fertility & Sterility Society of Bangladesh and is a life member of the Alumni Association of BSMMU.

Job Responsibilities
- Assist Leadership: Support the Chairperson in leading IRB meetings and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Protocol Review: Oversee the review of research protocols and informed consent documents.
- Ensure Compliance: Ensure adherence to national, international, and institutional guidelines.
- Conflict Resolution: Address ethical concerns or conflicts of interest in studies.
- Training & Mentorship: Guide IRB members and provide training on ethical review processes.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of IRB decisions and communications.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in audits and contribute to process improvements.
- Advocate for Ethics: Promote participant rights and ethical research practices.
