Biography
Dr. Syeda Zinia Zafrin is a highly qualified and experienced internal medicine specialist with an MBBS from Dhaka Medical College and MRCP(UK) certification. Currently serving as a Consultant in Internal Medicine at AMZ Hospital, she has extensive experience in managing complex medical cases, including chronic conditions like diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. She leads ward rounds, provides patient care, and mentors junior doctors.
Dr. Zafrin has worked as a Specialty Doctor in Acute Medicine at Medway Maritime Hospital in the UK, where she managed emergency cases and provided clinical leadership. She has also served as a trainee medical officer at Dhaka Medical College and as a general practitioner.
Her research focuses on nosocomial infections and microbial agents in ICU settings. Dr. Zafrin has presented her work at various medical conferences and participated in multiple professional seminars. She was awarded "Extraordinary Performance of the Year – 2021 for COVID Front Liner" at AMZ Hospital. Additionally, she demonstrates leadership in her daily duties, managing teams, delegating tasks, and fostering effective communication within multidisciplinary teams. Job Responsibilities
- Ensure research adheres to ethical guidelines such as the Declaration of Helsinki and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
- Assess study protocols, informed consent forms, and investigator qualifications.
- Verify informed consent documents are clear, comprehensive, and compliant.
- Oversee study progress, review adverse events, and ensure protocol adherence.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory laws and guidelines, such as FDA and EMA standards.
- Maintain impartiality by avoiding conflicts of interest and preserving confidentiality.
- Keep accurate documentation of IRB decisions, meeting minutes, and communications.
- Act as a liaison between sponsors, investigators, and regulatory authorities.
- Stay updated on regulatory developments and contribute to ethical training programs.
